Still-Life Impressionism

The loose rendition of this image is in an impressionist style that I personally find very appealing. Light was important and the light coming in at the top left really makes the flowers pop as well as making some interesting shadows. A very worthy top ten selection. Congratulations.

The strong complementary colours really tie this image together. The blending of colour and pattern in the backdrop, jug, bowl and fabric is outstanding. Showing some of that colour in the sunflower petals shows a great eye for making a pleasing and cohesive image. I find the composition well balanced and pleasing on the eye. Renoir's cup of tea is also my cup of tea. I love the subtle complementary colours. The repeating circular composition is excellent and it even includes the table cloth. This is post production that I feel I would like more than the original. Congratulations on being in my top ten selection.

There were a lot of sunflowers in this competition. This one caught my eye because the artist had made a good digital rendition of Van Gogh's original.The flat yellow and blue backdrop even had the black separation line. The flower arrangement is very similar, particularly the drooping flower on the right. The big difference where you have made your own individual statement is the replacement of the original pottery jug for a glass vase. I am pleased that you made that choice, it is an homage to the artist while still making your own personal touch. Congratulations on being my first choice selection.

I am not usually a big fan of Photoshop oil paint effect, but you have made it into something special with a mask and texture. The simplicity and beauty of Fuchsia in a small bud vase makes an appealing impressionist image. Loose, but controlled has made this a stand out image. Congratulations on being in my top ten selection
