Great contest!

This contest attracted many images of suspension bridges. This is one of the few that not only met the criteria of the brief, but also displayed the talent and creativity of the photographer. The mood set by the fog, darkness and color toning is irresistible.

This image does everything right. The square crop draws attention to the symmetry as does the black and white treatment. Leading lines are everywhere. The position and angle of the camera, along with the wide-angle view work together to beautifully emphasize this contest's subject matter: suspension. Bravo!

This is one of the few nature images entered into this contest. It shows a kind of suspension that I had not considered. Thank you for the unique subject matter. The blurred and muted treatment of the background and the contrasting colors make this a strong image.

This image's two main virtues are its simplicity and the subject's expression. She doesn't want to look as she dangles upside down high in the air with her hair blowing in the breeze and nothing but the empty, hazy sky behind her.

Point of view is everything in this photo. The suspended nature of the skeleton is emphasized by aiming the camera down at it and by the people moving beneath it. Blurring from the long exposure helps to minimize the distraction of the people. The muted color palette gives the image an old-fashioned feel to match the historic nature of the skeleton and building. Nice work.

I would like to see your photos showing something suspended. For this contest the definition of the word suspended is a physical object that hangs freely on all sides except at the point of support. This could include things such as certain kinds of bridges, a spider hanging at the end of its silk, a fish on a line, a parachutist descending. Judging will be based on phototographic skill, creativity and originality. Colour, monochrome and toned images are all welcomed.
