I think the depth of field in this photo and the fact it's in black and white enhances the narrative of the insects going about their duty taking off and landing back at the hive. I'm glad that its not heavily cropped. Well done..

This image captures the real essence of the brief. The composition and cropping add to the drama. The almost total lack of colour also enhances the photo. The challenges of getting the depth of field and sharpness at 1/80th of a second have been incredibly achieved...

A clear no 1 for me on this. On the brief and I particularly love the razor sharp eye in this image and how close the bird is to the photographer giving real impact to the shot. Superb colour adds to the drama of the bird taking flight. Awesome..

I like the almost total lack of colour in this and the innocence of the child in mid flight. I also like that fact that you haven't straightened up the photo and the sea is slightly off horizontal. Simple and very effective..

This image tells a great story as the Pelican anticipates landing. As close as you can get with out touching the water, which fits the brief perfectly. A razor sharp and colourful photograph. the cropping with the bird off centre works really well for me

This is a delicate image and beautifully captured showing the wonders of the insect world. Nice and sharp considering the relative high ISO on such a small subject. The colour also adds to the overall impact with the soft green background

This image has the all the drama of the brief with the grass being blown and the helicopter filling the frame I also think choice of being in black and white is better for impact. Nice and sharp with some rota blur.

The colour of this image and the heat haze make this image for me. In this case it doesn't need to be sharp to have massive impact as a photograph. It clearly tells a story of raw power in take off.

This photo is a true reflection of the brief having both 'Take off and Landing' in the same shot. The sunlight on the wing of the A380 adds to the spectacle along with the angle of the takeoff aircraft leaving the runway clear.
