A great example of teams working together as a unit to compete against their opponents to fight for ball possession. Peak action as the defender has beaten the attacking player to the ball to head away to safety. Lots of intensity and determination on show, and a split second moment captured very well with crisp details and focus on the main point of interest.

The smoke creates great subject separation from the environment and the red and white colours of the team with the stars and stripes of the USA flag makes for a great shot full of energy and excitement.

Each player occupies their own space in the frame and are not quite fully silhouetted, retaining subtle details and contributing to a strong composition. The image is drawing me in and I want to see more and be closer to the action. A compelling image.

A dynamic action shot with the movement and splashing of the water really adding impact and a sense of movement and drama. The expressions on both team members are great, and the angles and positions of the paddles provide strong elements within the frame.

A different take on a team, but hte pack of dogs are working as a team and this picture captures them very well. The lead dog closest to the camera has a fantastic expression and each of the other dogs have a unique look on their face. The lead dogs having all four legs off the ground imply so much movement, action and drama.

What a great shot and a worthy winning image. On initial viewing the image has impact, and draws the viewer in, which then reveal even more interesting details to enjoy and hold the attention. A super image that doesn't disappoint on closer inspection. Team work in abundance. the expressions on the team members are intense and really show the determination and levels of concentrations required to compete at this level and navigate such demanding conditions. Lots of details throughout the image including the ice and snow and overall the image has been handled extremely well. A fabulous example of a team effort, with the team members battling to balance the boat as it navigates the ice.

Great facial expressions and the tackling team members trying their best to bring down a very strong attacking player. The monochrome conversion has helped remove any potential colour distraction allowing the viewer to enjoy the pure action. The tight crop has helped to eliminate and background distractions and leaves the viewer in no doubt as to the central point of interest.

This image allows the viewer the opportunity to get a sense of what it must be like to be on the boat and part of the team. The tight crop keeps the viewers attention right were the main action is taking place.

The contrast between the celebrating players and dejected players is stark, as is the contrast in kit colours. the light the picture has been taken in is also kind, and although a high contrast scene, the details have been retained well with good focus throughout.
