What's better than one aurora in a single image? Two of course! And that's exactly what Jacquie has delivered in her fabulous reflection shot from the Canadian Rockies. We love the stunning shades of green shimmering throughout the shot in both the sky and water, as well as the central composition with the two downward slopes of the mountains on either side of the image guiding the eye towards the middle peak. The rocky foreground also helps frame the bottom of the shot nicely and guide the eye in too. Brilliant job!

I love the HDR effect Richard has achieved in this shot, it has brought out all sorts of details, though I can't quite work out if it's a true bracketed HDR or a split-raw job. Not that that matters - it's a brilliant image full of textures and plenty of green tones. The only slight problem I have with this shot is a seemingly absent focal point - perhaps somebody sitting on the rocks or similar would help lead the eye in and really help to ground this image.

I love how simple yet effective Claire's image and technique is here. Layering up different leaves around her lightbox has built up a really strong gradation of green tones and the details in the veins of the leaves are pin-sharp too due to her excellent focus stacking skills. It's certainly made me want to cobble together a lightbox and give this a go at home too - great job!
This is a wonderfully abstract image, showing you don't need expensive equipment to take great pictures with your camera - just a few pieces of coloured paper and a light source were all that was needed for this shot from Sailesh. There's a fantastic gradation of green tones in this shot and it's just a joy to look at. Fantastic job!

I love the idea behind this shot and I think with a bit more practice Deniz could be onto a winner. The green fruit definitely pops out from the dark background and the splashing water definitely make for an eye catching shot. However, the lime is just a tad out of focus, and this can be achieved with a slightly narrower aperture and also more experimentation to get the lime falling in the sweet spot of focus. Also stopping this image from getting into our Commended list this month is the composition, I think it work more strongly if you shot in the portrait orientation to fill the frame more effectively, with the bottom half taken up by the fruit and the top half filled with the upwards water splash. There's a great shot to be had here so stick at it!
