Great contest!

If you're going to submit an amanita into a mushroom contest, you'd better stand out! This shot, I believe, does. Well exposed. Nice light temperature.

Submitting an amanita photo to a mushroom contest is certain to be up against many other amanitas. You've got to stand out, and this staged photo really does to me. Great hues, warmth vs the cool backdrop and wood. The chestnuts' (I think?) texture really contrasts nicely against the dreaminess of the mushrooms. Composition is lovely, and I enjoy that you have different stages of the shroom's growth! Nice stuff!

Im really digging the mood of this one. A cluster of bright orange mushrooms contrasting against some somber, grey-blue clouds really reminds me of why it is still important to be adventuring outside during those sub-par weather days. Great composition!

Super sweet shot! The subjects are wonderfully focused and in premium light, the bokeh adding to the shrooms' sharpness. Love the colors here, too. Muted, yet lively, browns against the vibrant greens and yellows works really well. And the off center composition is pleasing. Nice work !

I like this photo as it really shows off the form of a basally clumping mushroom. The exposure is wonderful. The softness of the creamy-white mushrooms contrasts boldly against your all-black background. My only small gripe is the little bits of soil on the left side that could be easily removed in photoshop or with a cloning tool. Nice work!

I really like this shot. Great bokeh and lighting. My only gripes would be the highlights along the stump's top edge, and the near-black shadows of the stump bottom right. The whites & blacks are likely clipped there, bracketing your shots and merging to a single HDR image would likely solve the clipping issue.

I want to see your best photos of the fruits of a fungus. Examples include mushrooms you encounter on your hikes, a toadstool in the perfect light, or a chicken-of-the-woods clinging onto a log in its bright yellow/orange glory. If your photo showcases a fungus of any type and in any fashion, please submit it for this contest.
