Congratulations for getting in the top ten of this contest. It has been a very hard one to judge with so many great entries and with its wide narrative of images that an be classed as "Things with Wings" You have done a brilliant job of filling the frame with birds and all at a different depth of field which gives the viewer lots to look at. I think this would convert very well into a jigsaw puzzle! Brilliant job well done.
This is a superb image. Things with Wings shows some beautiful images and it was hard to choose a winner but I feel this image shows nature at its best. The Bee is determined to get its pollen from this flower which has broken away from the plant. If you look closely, the flower head is hanging on from a spiders thread. It is amazing how nature copes with the trials and tribulations of life, but it does so in very clever ways. The photographer has captured the Bee in flight and every detail is beautifully sharp apart from the tips of its wings which is where you see the movement of hover! Congratulations on first place with such a wonderful image.

Well done for getting a judge commended here. I love pheasants and find they are a very under rated bird, which I can not fathom why as the colours and detail on their feathers is breath-taking. You have captured the colours so well. If the wings had have been a little bit sharper it would have made it into the top ten. But taking nothing away from this image I do love it and thank you for showing off this bird to its maximum.
