I am fond of the creative choices in this image, the starkness of the black and white scene capture the turbines in their most simple and pure form- rugged giants towering over the land. Despite this, they almost seem small in the image, the minimalistic ground detail seemingly insignificant below the turbines. I think this is a stunning image and the creative decisions were really well done.

This is a fascinating image from a viewpoint I've never seen before. It really puts into perspective how complex and technologically advanced these turbines are. Having a subject in the image provides context for the rest of it-and draws the eye to the heart of the structure, which may have been disorienting without. The lines and shapes in this frame are also artistically pleasing, lots of circles and drastic lines which make for an appealing architectural image. As you've said, it feels like an image from space. I appreciate seeing all of the complex technological innovations that go into clean energy, far more involved than what you can see from the outside.

This capture is a stunning composition involving dynamic layers of light, shadow, weather, nature, and the impact of man. I absolutely love how the foreground of the image is wild forest, a sharp contrast to the towering turbines which cast shadows above. To me this image captures the essence of the prompt; alternative sources of renewable energy and the beautiful ecosystem we must protect.

I love the description of an "inanimate staring contest," you've captured it in words better than I could. This is a well composed image of a thought provoking installation, a statue slowly reclaimed by the sea, dwarfed by towering turbines in the background. Man and innovation, and nature in the space in between. I love the composition here and the choice of silhouetting of the figure.

This is a spectacular capture of a fascinating innovation in the space of renewable energy, I believe it is called a concentrating tower which stores energy in the form of boiled salt. I absolutely love the lighting here and the drama of the image, you can feel the heat of radiating off of the scene from the image alone. I also appreciate the softly lit slopes in the background as well, contrasting this behemoth tower.

This fascinating image encapsulates the concept of net zero well. It is a beautiful structure that provides for itself in many ways. I found this to be a very interesting and evocative submission to the contest, much different than what most would think of when hearing the term "towards net zero," yet this image demonstrates the concept better than most. It is not only a beautiful image, but also a spectacle of how mankind can coexist with nature in the modern age in even one of the most developed southeast asian city states.

This is a gorgeous image of the passage of time and night sky. Movement is crucial in the harnessing of wind as a tool- old and new, which is shown here in both the movement of the earth and the blades of the windmill turning with the wind. Although these old mills do not contribute to modern day clean energy, I do think it is important to show the history of this technology as it has been used for generations to assist human survival. While our goals and needs are much loftier now, wind power has been a source of harnessable energy for a very long time.

This is such an evocative and interesting image, combining astrophoography with a thought provoking subject. The condensation stacks balance the image out well and I love how the condensation has become a fine mist in the long exposure of the shot. The streaking stars add quite a bit of character to the frame.

The gentle undulation in this image are quite appealing to the eye. I think these solar farms are fascinating - I've never seen one for myself. I think my favorite aspect of this image is the panel closest to the viewer- it leads your eye along the length of the structure and makes for an interesting composition. I really enjoy seeing the beauty in these marvels of technology on top of their practicality in harnessing energy from the sun. With the right eye, a photographer can showcase their intrigue and architectural beauty.

Much of the world is focussed seriously now on achieving net zero. We may not be getting there quickly enough yet, but the visible evidence of efforts to cut our carbon emissions is growing, and we’re interested to see how you’ve been capturing that with your cameras. Wind turbines, of course, but what else is in our line of sight that shows our commitment to reducing carbon emissions? Electric bike schemes, solar panels, energy efficient light bulbs, car sharing schemes, electric cars and buses, and a shift to a more plant-based diet. Set your minds to thinking about the many changes afoot, and how you can document them.

What makes this image stand out from most of the turbine photos out there is the usage of a slow shutter speed to capture the movement of these behemoth structures. I really do think this is a vital part of the story- to show the turbines interacting with the wind and creating the energy they were built for. This is an element lacking in perfectly frozen photographs of turbines and to me, a very crucial part of the story frequently left out. The composition of each structure in a line, slowly fading into the background is a nice creative choice as well, and I do very much like the Joshua trees in the foreground, clean energy solutions and nature existing together as they should.

What immediately attracted my eye to this image are the sharp lines and the interaction with the sun and shade, the essence of the power absorbed through the solar panels glinting off their surface. I think this is a very artistic and abstract piece and the leading lines are quite appealing to the viewer. Even better that the subject matter is a thought provoking topic showcasing mankind's desire to find cleaner energy for a better future.

The star of the show here is the brilliant tulip fields of course, but I love the drastic juxtaposition with the harsh lines of manmade architecture. I really like that 2/3rd of the photo is floral and the top third is a drastically different scene of turbines. I find this image evocative- showing how nature can flourish in the shadow of man, and how it will continue to, if we make the right decisions and proactive choices for a brighter future of clean energy.

The concentrating tower serving as a subject in the image draws your eye into the beacon of brilliant light. It is almost staggering to see the breadth of the solar panels at this plant, incredible innovations from man. I think the composition of this image is perfect and I love the way the light interacts with the subject, reflecting and bouncing off of the sea of solar panels.

This image is simply stunning. I think the framing of the condensation is really powerful here, stark titanium white against the blue sky acting as the subject of the image. The depth of colors are a strong point as well. Not only that, the subject matter is truly fascinating - this harnessing of raw power from the inside of the earth itself, geothermal energy. It goes to show that there are many ways to harness clean energy for humanity.

This is such a fascinating image and a perspective rarely seen. I love that one of the blades of the turbines takes up most of the image, it really puts into perspective how immense these structures are in relation to the photographer. The landscape below seems almost dwarfed and minimized. A very unique image for sure!
