Trains and Locomotives

I really appreciate the composition you have here. It makes me wonder where this train is going and what it's cargo is, as well as special stipulations it must have to operate in icy and cold conditions. The engine is old and adorable and looks like a toy train. All of this while maintaining a great shot of the snow covered mountains in the background as well. Nice work!

This is my favorite image of the mechanics of a train. I especially appreciate that the engineer is included in the shot. I can tell the image has some post-editing work done, but it suits the composition of the photo very well. Thanks for submitting. Great work!

This image was chosen as first place because it just speaks to me. The bright yellow coloring set against a somewhat threatening sky. It is so clean that it appears new, and you have found the perfect angle to capture everything about it - including the length of the train as well. Thank you for submitting it! A great capture!

I was hoping that someone would submit a photo of a snow/ice-peircer. They are pretty rare, just amazingly ginormous, and an incredible piece of machinery.. I also don't know if it was intentional or not, but the small bit of the buildings in the background is great for scale, along with the mountain peak in the background. Great image!

I love the real life Thomas trains. They are just adorable. The inclusion of the engineer is great too as it completes the proof that this is in fact the real life Thomas. I do wonder how it is to go for a ride - I can just picture all the thrilled kids (and adults)!
