Trams

This stunning image jumped out as the likely winner as soon as I saw it. The huge puddle across the tramlines has allowed for the capture of a fantastic natural reflection in this urban setting. The lower viewpoint works really well and adds a dynamic to the image, and the line of the trackway pulls ths eye into the frame. Colours are lovely; rich and vibrant. Congratulations on your winning image.

This is a great image, full of atmosphere and perfectly capturing the chill of a snowy day in Istanbul. I am not sure if the tram has become stranded in the snow, but if looks to be attracting the cameras of several passers-by. Ths red of the tram stands out nicely against the snow and the urban architecture. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.

A great image that could almost act as a promotional poster for modern central Birmingham, with its relatively new tramways and the iconic central library building. Captured at just the right moment as the tram comes into the frame, but avoiding obliterating the building. Everything looks natural as the eye would see it too, with no heavy editing effects. Congratulations on your second place finish.

This image stood out for me as bring quite different from the other entries, and the unusual viewpoint and creative capture works really well to offer a different take on the subject of trams. Although we can see only a small part of the tram, it really gives a great sense of the whole. The shot is really made by the inclusion of the driver's arm, which tells the story of the scene. I am not a fan of the colour toning, but otherwise an image I like a lot. Well done on your top ten placing.
