Tufted Squirrels

Here we have this little red just hanging around, perhaps just awoken from their nap... without a care in the world - and you can't get me up here in this tree attitude, which is so squirrel isn't it?!

We had a LOT of very cute red squirrels and I thank all contestants for your efforts. This entry oozes cuteness and this little red owns his space doesn't he? Really sharp capture in a natural winter setting, which can be tricky to get right when the light is poor. Nicely showing off his tufts. Just what I was hoping for. Well done

I assumed most entries would be of red squirrels as in my country (the UK) it is usually only the reds who have winter ear tufts. But clearly in this case this little chap clearly has tufts too but he is grey/ light brown, and not red at all. It was great to have a varied selection of entries and thanks for sharing this one. Another very cute little chap or lassie - adorable - almost made it in to my top ten - only reason it didnt was that I ran out of spaces!!! Nice orangey red against the vivid greens of the forest floor.

Beautiful. Good grief, just noticed - how many nut shells has he/she cracked exactly?!! Lovely capture, the colours are exquisite, and beautiful tufts too. (Tail slightly OOF but I don't care too much because its a lovely photo). Adorable detail in his/her little hands - another nut to crack? Well done
