Tulips (in colour)

This is such a simple and elegant macro photo of a tulip.
Our eyes are immediately drawn to the stamen and the pistils because of the light behind the pistils and then we follow the petals out to the right.

wonderful use of the complementary colors red and green. You have filled the frame well with an odd number of tulips, and it makes the composition more harmonious

Thank you to all who sent in photos for this competition. It was very difficult to choose and rank top ten.

This is such a beautiful and elegant tulip and I really love the soft colors and the angle you have photographed the tulip in so we can see some of the stamens and pistels. In the background there is just a hint that there's more tulips of the same kind around and I think you have done very well to get this tulip isolated -especially in Keukenhoff where there is a lot of people around you. This is such a beautiful landscape photo in portrait format. The tulips are the focus - even though the sky takes up a good deal of the photo but I think it is very well proportioned

The colors tells us that the photo is taken at sunset and the mill in the background draw our attention into the background and give us a hint of where the photo is taken -namely the Netherlands.

Three is a magical number and often used in fairytales and here we have 3 magical and beautiful tulips that fills the frame -one is bend to the right, one to the left and the one in the middle is straight up. Very good composition, lovely colors and the focus stacking is very well executed, the individual flower is very sharp. Congratulations on your 4th place.
