Two colours

April 2026

The tight crop and contrasting colors pull you right into the frame. I love how the vibrant orange of the beak pops so naturally, leading your eye straight to the birds gaze.

The feathers have a beautiful blue tone that blends perfectly with the background, yet they still hold so much rich, touchable texture. Using a long lens was a great call here. it brings everything closer and gives the whole shot a much more intimate, lifelike feel.

I love this example of how minimalist composition can carry a lot of narrative weight. For me, my eyes are immediately drawn to the textural and color contrast. I love the way the red color and details of the child's outfit contrasts against the white background. It feels very intentional. The natural light is also handled beautifully here. By choosing this crop, the image has managed to turn a human profile into something almost sculptural, really great eye for detail

Using an everyday subject like this feels both resourceful and effortless. I love how the composition centers on that single cracked egg, the vibrant orange yolk immediately grabs your attention before your eyes wander to the surrounding white eggs, creating a brilliant natural contrast.

The grid layout is executed perfectly. It forces you to appreciate the clean repetition of the crate right up until that pattern is broken by the subject in the center. It’s a great example of using structure to highlight a specific moment.
