Urban parks

The composition in this picture is very good but it is the autumnal colours that really make it. The combination of golden, silver and bronze shades in the foliage is amazing and creates an atmosphere of mystery, strengthened by the intriguing statue in the distance.

The composition of this picture and the perspective used give it a somewhat surreal feel, even when the individual elements are very familiar. The position of the bird above the empty seat and the mirroring of the shape of the tree foliage in the cloud make this into a park picture with a difference.

This is a well executed photo of a park in the evening. Rather than being a scary place, this park is shown to be inviting at night with its autmnal colours highlighted very well in the artifical lights. Great work.

You can almost feel the excitement of the kids in this picture. It is a great composition with the band stand and partly covered tree trunks. It also exactly captures the kind of grey light that comes with snow. Very nice.

Of the many photos of the sun beaming through trees in a park submitted, this one stood out for its great colour. The shades of green are very well captured and you just wonder why no one is enjoying the scene from the bench.

The white church in the snow is well chosen as a subject for a black and white photo. Together with the grey tones of the trees, clouds and shiny church roofs, it makes a great compostion that has been well captured.

This great picture is very atmospheric due to the fog, fallen leaves and the loneliness of the man on the bench. It's as if you can feel the weight of winter coming to the park. The B&W tones are very well applied.

This is a very intimate portrait of a park. It has great compositional elements: the people, the sun rays, the shade, the fountain, the smoke. This all creates a picture of a very sociable communal place where you take shelter from the busy streets and bump into friends. Great capture.

This picture of the "morning rush" in the park is a great capture. The silhouettes of the trees and people form a great composition with just enough haze to hide the detail that would otherwise have turned it in a very different photo.

I love the composition and colours in this panorama. It contains all the elements you'd expect to see in a park: people, trees and wildlife. Their silhouettes are very nicely set off against the misty background giving this picture a very artistic quality.
