Congratulations on a fantastic image. For Judging, we were really looking for that image that caught the fleeting moment and drew us in. This image does exactly that.
The perfect timing and position of the subject between the orange and blue, his gaze in the photographer's direction, but not actually at the camera, the verticle lines, and the shape of the legs spread all draw the attention to the face. The heavy snowfall adds that little extra to the atmosphere of the shot and completes the brief of Urban winter. All the elements make this a great moment to capture and a winning shot. Well done.

Well done on a great capture. This definitely caught our attention. The chance happening of coming across interesting subjects is what street photography is all about. It is clearly winter with how everyone is dressed in the background, and the topless jumper making us question what is happening. I think having the focus on the jumper instead of the background would improve this, whether the focus was missed or was done on purpose this is a fun image to look at none-the-less.

Wow, that is incredible that the ice can form like that so quick and capsize boats. Glad your boat survived. This definitely had a wow factor of the subject, however I don't think it quite fitted the brief. Thanks for entering and I really enjoyed seeing your image.

Well done on a great shot. We really like this and the fact we commended it means it could of been in the top 10 but perhaps missed something, that something is the "winter" part of the brief. We felt it could of been shot at any time of the year. With a different competition brief, this may have been placed very high. Well done.

Well done on a nice shot. Having lived in Copenhagen which is also a city of bikes, I have also been drawn to similar subjects when it snows. I like your use of black and white to simplify the image that has a lot of elements in it.

**All submissions must include metadata, a description of the image and be free from watermarks in order to be eligible for judging.** The concrete jungle has a million and one images waiting to be captured, which by no means implies that it is easy. Filtering through the chaos to find contrast, unique shapes or capturing those milliseconds of interaction with bystanders, Urban Photography is a truly fascinating yet challenging genre of photography. For this competition, we want to see creative urban photography. Perhaps it’s forms created by towering skyscrapers, bustling traffic, or provocative portraits, show us your urban explorations. Bonus points if it has a touch of winter!
