During the last few decades there have been major changes in the technology and appearance of most vending machines. Compared to their brightly colored, well lit food and beverage vending cousins, newspaper vending machines have changed very little since their inception.
Thank you for exerting this photograph that tells a story .I love the colorful ceramic tile background that hints at affluent days from the past. The rust and graffiti on the machines, on the other hand, and the chain link fence in the background. indicate s a neighborhood in decline. .The stained and littered floor add to the feeling of decay and poverty. Your photo left me wondering if the newspapers were purchased for reading or used as a mattress and blanket on a make-shift park bench bed somewhere nearby. Very interesting photograph.. Congratulations on earning the number one spot!

What a find! Your photograph of the Photomatique vending machine feels like a blast from the past. Everything about this vintage machine appears to be in pristine condition., from the bright red curtains to the shiny brass trim. I love the contrasting colors. of yellow, red and that beautiful sea green The lighting is perfect. I like the interior lit booth and the light on the sign and dolphin. The sweet dolphin on top of the machine makes me wonder if this machine was designed to capture vacation pictures at some fun beach resort. I would suggest removing the cup and chair from view. I would also like a slightly tighter crop which might make the writing on the signs legible. Thank you for your entry.
Many of us have seen this machine advertised and wondered, if it is actually a vending machine. The answer, as proven by your photo, is yes!
I love that you can see the details of the new cars through the seven-story glass tower. You were able to snap a great picture without any of the distracting reflections that often appear on photographs of glass surfaces. I studied your photograph and could not tell the time of day you snapped this shot. I like the party cloudy sky.. Bottom line,, you captured an new and interesting way to buy a car.. Thank you for documenting this unique vending machine.
I really like this vintage beverage machine with neon sign. The world famous Coca-Cola logo in Spencerian script helps us date it to the 1940's. The neon sign of a glass with delightful bubbles also helps to date the vending machine., as does the 10 price tag.
I like the black background, which really makes the red and white pop. Your choice to focus on only the top part of the machine works well. I appreciate the sharp focus allowing the viewer to easily see read the words and directions. I especially like seeing actual bottles through the glass on the dispensing door. I am sure you had no choice, but I found the tan rectangle behind the beautiful neon sign distracting. Other than that, this is a wonderful capture.
