A brilliant image and a great effort to get this. The photographer was hoping to get this in a crowd of people and that makes it such a great image. The flag is prominent yet out of focus so the viewer can see the aircraft in great detail and the two compliment each other beautifully. The sky is wonderful and also gives the image some lovely texture, just adding so much atmosphere to it. Congratulations on the winning image and thank you for entering my contest.
This has to be my favourite aircraft. It gives me goosebumps because they have such stories to tell. There's a wonderful charming feel to this image and you can almost see the scene playing out in front of you. The pilots and crew sitting and waiting for the call to service. We all have so much to be thankful for from these beautiful old aircraft. I'd like to have seen a bit more detail in the aircraft but just enough so as not to spoil the overall atmosphere it has. Most of us have been to an Airshow of some description. In this contest I'd like to see your images of old aircraft. Jets are NOT allowed in this one. I love the simplicity of old aircraft. Have your shot in flight, on the ground or even part of one in a hanger, which ever way you wish to photograph it. Biplanes and Triplanes are also included in this contest and feel free to edit them how you like. I look forward to your shots.

Meet the judge
This is a very unique image. I've never seen anything quite like it. Really catches your eye and makes you look twice. I bet you were pleased when you saw how good this came out! Wonderful light and dark clouds and of course making it black and white was the way to go. It wouldnt have had the same effect if it was in colour. Thank you for entering my contest.
