Water Droplets on Plants

This was the first photograph that caught my eye when I started judging this competition. The use of bokeh has a beautiful touch, and I love the silvery tones throughout the photo. I love the use of in focus and out of focus, that draws the viewers eye to numerous aspects of the photo at once. One of the things I love about this shot is that most raindrop photographs are very close-up, however this shot proves that a shot from far away can be just as effective. Overall, a stunning photograph and well deserved top ten.

This is a completely stunning shot. Pink and the red is a colour combination that is often frowned upon, however I think that it has worked beautifully in this photograph. I love the fact that some of the bokeh in the background is the same colour as the flower in the foreground. Congratulations on winning a place in my top ten!

First of all, this is a stunning photograph. When I first saw it, I was instantly reminded of exotic coral formations. The colours are superb, and the raindrops make the plant stand out and refract the colours, making the whole thing even more beautiful. The black background makes the plant in the foreground stand out. Overall a beautiful photo. Congratulations on making my top ten.

This is an example of a truly beautiful macro shot. The daisy forms that can be seen inside the water droplets are crisp and in sharp focus, as is the salsify seed. I love the fact that you can see the blurred form of the daisies in the background. The colours are perfect, drawing the viewers eye instantly to the raindrops. What a beautiful shot! Pink and yellow is one of my favourite colour combinations, and it has been particularly well executed in this photo. It is so difficult to get perfect images in raindrops, and you have done it perfectly in every single raindrop. Congratulations on making my top ten!

I can see a careful use of colours in this shot. Because of the use of only green and orange, the eye of the viewer is instantly drawn to the tiny oranges that are refracted inside the water droplets. Everything in this shot it crystal clear. Overall, a beautiful photograph, and well deserved top ten!
