John's captured an incredible shot of Glencoe here, which really shows off the best of Scottish landscapes. The crashing waterfalls make for fantastic foreground interest that instantly draw the eye and carry you through the image to the fantastic mountain and dramatic sky looming in the background. It's well exposed and nicely composed too - great job!
Richard has caught a fantastic moment in his image Golden Hour Rainbow over Llyn Dinas, Wales. It's one of the strongest rainbow displays we've seen in quite some time and is visually arresting because of just how vibrant the rainbow is. The only thing that could make this image even better would be a strong focal point, like a lone tree or lighthouse in the frame, but aside from that it's a brilliant image and Richard has done a great job at capturing such a fleeting moment.

Wayne's uses water in his scene to add some wonderful symmetry at the horizon. Shooting the golden hour at sunset has bathed the Hickling boathouses in a glorious warm light. A high aperture value of f/22 has also given the setting sun a star burst effect that adds another interesting detail to the composition. Great job!
Nathan's shot of Durham Cathedral is nothing short of stunning, with incredible lighting and moody clouds hanging overhead. The scene is reflected wonderfully in a perfectly still River Wear. Our only small issue is the top of the tower is cropped off which looks a little awkward. But small issue aside it's a fantastic landscape - well done!
This is a cracking shot of the Twr Mawr lighthouse in Angelsey with some great lead-in lines from the path guiding the eye towards the focal point. While there are some nice pastoral colours in this image, the sky and tones fall a little flat. The composition is also a little awkward and would work better if the lighthouse wasn't so central in the frame, or JR had gone for a portrait composition instead. Small issues aside it's a lovely landscape worthy of hanging on the wall.
Getting up early has certainly paid off for Dave, who on this occasion caught a fantastic sunrise over Lake Bled in Slovenia. His composition is interesting, with the church positioned about a third of the way in from the right edge, though a little more space around the bottom of the frame would help the shot feel a bit more symmetrical. This small issue aside it's a fantastic landscape packed with interesting details and a stunning colour palette.
Howard's shot of Vestrahorn and the black sands is moody, atmospheric and full of drama and his mono conversion does a brilliant job of making all of the details really stand out. It's slightly over-processed, with some haloes seen around the fringes of the mountain tops, but this small issue aside it's a great landscape with strong interest throughout the frame. Great job!
Julia has captured an incredible picturesque scene of the Lago Di Braes, shooting at dawn has provided her with stunning lighting that lights up the tips of the Dolomites in Italy in a phenomenon called 'alpenglow'. It's a stunning scene that feels like it has the power to transport us to the location and is definitely worthy of being on a postcard. Great work!
Durdle Dor has to be one of the most photogenic and photographed landscape spots in the UK and certainly along the Jurassic Coast. Hywel's shot is nicely composed and full of colour thanks to the fiery pinks and oranges coming through the clouds at sunrise. The cliff edge and shoreline act as lead-in lines guiding the eye perfectly towards the famous arch and a slow shutter speed of 30 seconds has added some dramatic blur to the waves and clouds - terrific job!
Guy's captured an incredible moment of the Schéissendëmpel Waterfall flowing underneath the bridge at Schiessentümpel. By using a slow shutter speed of 15 seconds he's turned the water into a rush of blur, making it a captivating foreground. The bridge and forest canopy behind are also colourful and interesting too, which adds emphasis to the rest of the frame. In shaded forest spots like this exposure is always tricky, so we take our hats off to Guy for achieving detailed shadows without burning out the bright sky. Great work!

In this Canon-only contest we want to see your best landscapes that feature water within the scene. This could be a beautiful vast spanning vista with a river running through it, a scene with a pond or lake in it, a close up shot of a waterfall or even a creative shot taken on a rainy day. Be sure to experiment with how you include the water in your scene and if the water is moving pay attention to your shutter speed as slowing it down will let you inject a sense of movement within the frame. The judge's top picks will appear in PhotoPlus magazine with our judge's top choice taking home a Manfrotto Pixi Evo tripod. *See 'The brief in detail' tab for more instructions.*
