Great choice of setting and time of day – golden hour lighting on a gorgeous beach! But beyond that, this is such a sweet moment, something amplified by the candid style of the photograph. The image helps give us a sense of the bride and groom’s relationship and their shared joy. Wonderful job!

Wonderful image! The off-camera lighting is stellar, as is the choreography: I especially like that the bride’s veil forms the shape of a heart as she tosses it. I also appreciate the overhead perspective and how it brings the viewer’s focus to the various shapes and contours in the frame. Well done!

I love the overhead perspective here. Often detail-oriented images of wedding dresses will depict the dress by itself, but the aerial view of the dress being worn – especially against the dark backdrop – helps us see all of its intricate patterns and contours. Great job!

I love the framing of this image. The shape of the bride’s head covering is very similar to that of the two parasols flanking her, and there’s a nice symmetry happening here as a result. I also really enjoy the vibrant colors of this image, the lighting on the bride’s face, and her facial expression. Great job!

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 1 and 250 in this week’s Leaderboard.** Wedding photography can encompass many genres of photography - portraiture, reportage, architecture, landscape and still life - and the official wedding photographer no longer has a monopoly on great wedding shots. The banks of phones and cameras that capture the many highly symbolic traditions that make up weddings around the world must make them one of, if not the most photographed events.
