The colour white

Open Rating Results
Brief

White is one of the most predominant and iconic colours in both natural and human environments. Think of snow-capped mountains, palatial buildings, wild flowers, distinguished clothing. Some of Earth’s most treasured wildlife boasts a coat of white fur or a plume of white feathers. It is the colour of purity (a bride’s dress), cleanliness (a doctor’s coat), peace (a truce flag). White is the colour of light, yet so often it’s used as a neutral backdrop on which to emphasise other hues.

This contest is different, and will draw focus on the beauty of all the white things in life. It is a ‘pay to enter’ contest, with the top 25 finishers taking home cash prizes. 'The colour white' will close on 100 entries. Good luck!

How it works

Every photo submitted will be available for the crowd to rate once the submissions period has ended. You can see all the images uploaded to a contest, but will need to rate them to see how they’re ranked once the rating period begins.

Some contests on Photocrowd also have a judge. After the submission period closes the judge chooses their favourite images and writes some image reviews. The crowd and judge results will be announced on the same day.
