What's not to love about steamy windows and a figure behind it? They're always eye-catching with an almost supernatural feel to them when they are done properly and this one caught my eye due mainly to the fact that there's only one hand showing. It's a nice idea rather than having two hands and it made me pause to wonder whether it's the hand of the figure in the background or is it the hand of someone below the frame trying to escape? The greyish blue colour gives a feeling of cold which gave me an extra little shudder. A great shot and thank you for entering.
Before I read the notes on this entry the first thing that struck me was trees so when I saw "forest" in the description I'd obviously being thinking along the same lines as the photographer. This is what I like about abstract, especially when condensation is used, that a pretty mundane subject can have photographic possibilities within it when you let your mind wander and to me this is a good example of that. The black and white is a good choice as the "trunks" are very prominent. If it was colour there would possibly have been a few too many distractions to give the sense of trees so keeping the colours out, to me has worked well. A good spot and thank you for entering.
There were some excellent shots in the contest but this was the one that really stood out to me and the one I ultimately had to choose as the winner. It really encapsulated what I was looking for and captures a beautiful candid moment. The brief of the contest has been caught spot on with the condensation on the window which gives that real sense of cold outside with warmth on the inside, but it goes without saying the that the focal point of the shot is the child's face. It just shines through the gloom of the rainy day and there's a real melancholy about the gaze. To me there's also a sense of loneliness too even though the child is sitting with whom I presume is their father or another relative. I can imagine the inside of the train being hectic but there's a moment of calm on show here. One thing that I come across time and time again is that a photograph should make the viewer feel something and this shot does that in abundance. The dark and light colours really work well together but the little splash or red adds another little special touch. Thank you to the photographer for entering and congratulations on the judge first place with this magical shot.

The theme for this contest is to photograph windows that have condensation on them. During the colder months there can be an abundance of windows that are dripping in condensation which offer the photographer some great creative opportunities, especially abstract images. In this contest I would like to see your images showing windows that are wet with condensation, whether that is from sitting in looking out, or being outside looking in. The windows can be any type you like and it can be a whole window or part of the window, but the main element is the condensation. Images can be in colour or black and white, but please no heavy editing. Let your eye and camera do the work.

This entry looks like quite a simple shot but it was what was drawn that had me looking closer. It looks like a foot to me although it may well be something else, but it does prove that a window with condensation on it is very difficult not to do what the photo shows. Drawing on it! I must admit that I went back and forth to this image a few times but the more I looked at it the more interesting it became. When I looked closer at the drawing it became apparent that there seemed to be a face within it. I may be wrong but it if it is a face then it makes the drawing of the foot all the more intriguing. It fitted the brief perfectly for what I was looking for and had the added abstract feel to it tool. Some viewers may think that it's nothing out of the ordinary but personally I think there's a lot of interest in it. Many thanks for entering the contest.
