Congratulations on 6th Place in the Woodlands Competition. When you cycle through all the images to select your favourite there are always 1 or 2 images that really stand out for being different, and wow this one is different. I love the depth portrayed by the composition with the out of focus foreground all the way to the sharp main subject. It feels like I am drawn into and am part of the image. Well done!

The time of year and time of day has been used to perffection to show these amazing woodlands at their finest. It reminds me of an episode of 'Band of Brothers', a TV series depicting a Winter scene in Bastogne France during WWII - this image is so cinematic! Well done!

In this contest I want you to depict woodlands and forests in your photographs. It can sometimes be a challenge when photographing woodland to cut down to the essential elements in the image to capture woodland. I do not want to see any people or elements of man-made objects such as roads, fences or buildings.

Congratulations on 3rd Place in the Woodlands Competition. I love the uniformity of the straight plantation pines and the irregulaity of the new tree sapling fighting for survivial amongst it's larger competitors. The pines provide a bland backdrop which helps highlight the yellows on the main subject. Great image and great composition. Well done!
