Working Dogs

I like this particular photo of the sled dogs because of the scope in the picture. The landscape really adds a lot to the vastness, danger, ruggedness and beauty of the image and helps show, to some extent, just how tough these amazing sled dogs are. Great picture.

Guide dogs for the blind are really one of the best varieties of a working dog. They are with their handlers all day every day and work so closely to each other that they really form a bond that is not seen very often. Great picture.

I chose this particular picture as one of my top 10 because of the colors and all around meaning of the picture. There is just something about a large white dog standing proudly watching over his band of white sheep, and the red barn adds color and really makes the picture interesting. Good job.

I have chosen this picture for the winning photo out of many wonderful entries, but this picture just took the cake as far as what I was looking for in this contest. I could never find strong enough words to express the level of commitment and loyalty that a Military canine unit has for each other! Really just the content of the picture chose itself. I thank you for a memorable winner and for taking the time to capture a hint of the amazing relationship that these teams have for one another! A WONDERFUL image!

First of all I have to say what a beautiful dog! I absolutely love the breed! The reason that I chose this picture is that it is a touching scene when a older retired animal of any kind, but especially a dog, gets reinstated in what they love most if even for just a few minutes. And the look on his face tells you all about the time he is having!
