Finally I just loved the fluidity of movement created by the subject with the counter movement of the background, the graininess and the lack of colours, all together they generate a rhythmic cadence of life and motion that is inspiring. There is a clear contrast and message coming out of this image... and it is not unlike a CT scan measuring oxygen metabolism... where it's white, it's alive, it is consuming oxygen. What I like most here is that even the elements such as water seems to be alive at the same level as the creatures without distinction (I assume that it a seabird flying over the sea). Energy is everywhere. and it comes like shock-waves through which other life forms pierce through. Very powerful image. Well done to number 3 or this case to number 2.

My number 3 I have chosen this one despite the ICM there is a stillness here and a peacefulness I appreciate. I don't about you but as soon I saw this image, i just stopped and started slowing to engage in contemplation. You just want to float with it. Perhaps one little comment, a couple dots that came to my attention in the image started to shift my focus. The removal of those would have benefited even further this picturesque scene. Well done.
Thank you all for your submissions to this contest. It was a pleasure to see so many first timers using this technique and of course the many more advanced compositions. But as always there can only be one winner and my heart fell for this entry. Forests seems to offer a perfect subject to create eerie ambiences or abstracts using ICM and many entries favoured this subject.
Many were as perfectly composed as this one, so why this one over the others? Immediately the asymmetry of light separated by the path creates a rhythm from one side to the other which is left undisturbed by the up and down movement staying neutral in this composition, in my opinion. A lot of the forest ICM compositions are focused mainly on the strict linear up and down movement of the trees. Not this one. Here the up and down is softened two fold, first by a light wavy pattern in up and down movement (probably mostly due to the shape of the trees) and second by the highly contrasting difference in light between the left and right which in my view predominates over the up/down movement. Both movement seem to create an harmonious balance that actually keeps you centred leaving you to continue your journey undistracted into the composition (front to back movement). So having suggested movement on three axes x, y and z in composition is remarkable. This is truly a 3D composition which makes it so interesting and deserves to be number 1.
I particularly liked how this abstract landscape scene draws you in, to walk on this white snaky-like path through the woods away from the dark and into light. It sounds a bit cliche but I think that this composition taps deep into our psyche and into deep rooted symbolism. It feels like, we are experiencing a birth or re-birth since the woods have always been associated with a platform of change or re-appraisal or cradle of life. It makes you wonder what awaits at the edge of this forest?
I was also impressed very much with the colours, the olive green and the different whites. There was a softness all over creating another balance across the entire composition. This is truly an amazing piece of work, so thank you for presenting this composition and well done.
Although being an urbanite, I have resisted favouring urban landscape over country landscapes but this one is out of this world. But this is my second number 1. It deserves the same position as my number 1. The colours, the geometric shapes are incredibly well balanced to make this composition stand out. It's fresh and full of buzz but at the same harmonious and soft. The work with colours here is tremendous. The simplicity of it all makes this a true master piece. Well done.

Please enter your photos showing the concept of abstraction captured using intentional camera movement. The choice of subject is yours as well as the choice of movement of the camera. You may chose for instance a nature environment or a more urban setting including cars, people or buildings. As for movement you may chose a steady linear movement or a rotating one, or a bit of both. Entries can be in colour or in black and white. Also there no restrictions in post-processing however the movement should be created physically and not digitally. I am looking mostly for creative approaches to abstraction using intentional camera movement.
