Almost Hidden

Easy to overlook - what a perfect case of camouflage! Here the stag is not in such vulnerable position as in the open, bare highlands, but in dense undergrowth., and he blends in perfectly with his surroundings. Beautifully spotted and executed. A very worthy winner of this contest. Congratulations.

Hard to see where the water starts and the human torso ends. A masterful action shot of a fast-moving sport. Certainly not a sport for people who don't like getting wet! This photo has everything - action, drama and focus. No commentary needed. Great shot.

That's what I call proper fog! These cranes are huge and still, the elements are hiding them to a large part. I was glad to see a few good foggy images, as they can really play tricks with your eyes. The composition is great, it has the makings of a still from a horror movie.

Seeing this image, I marvelled at the way the photographer used his/her skill to choose the correct angle and focus to achieve the effect of hiding so much of the tiny bird. I'm sure if the same image was taken differently, most of the bird would have been clearly visible. A masterpiece, just right for this contest.

Just the right moment - it must have been difficult to shoot the skinny heron only partially hidden behind the tree. He must have been invisible for quite some time behind the tree. I love the fact that the water in the background is blurry and reflects the other side of the water.
