Anything with Hearts

Thank you for entering the “Anything with Hearts” contest. It’s a pity there is no EXIF data with the entry, as it’s always interesting to see which camera and settings were used. However, I like the subtlety of the heart and how it has been illuminated on the mug, and the overall lighting and the angle of the shot is good. At first I thought the guy was holding a cigarette, but on closer inspection, I see this is not the case. I would like to see a version including a cigarette though!

Thank you for entering the “Anything with Hearts” contest. I chose this image because of its originality. The majority of the photos entered were colourful and conveyed happiness, whereas yours is not only in black and white, but also has a dark message behind it, or at least that’s my interpretation. I like the enlarged shadow behind the subject and the slightly gritty textures.
