Thank you Phil for joining my “Art Nouveau” contest and congratulations on your 6th place! I know Ferrara very well, an Italian city famous for its Renaissance architecture and urban planning, and I never imagined it would hide this little jewel in Liberty style, Villa Melchiori. Fantastic detail with the corners of the balcony decorated with bunches of sunflowers carved into the concrete. I am struck by the fan-shaped staircase and the circular shape of the entrance, with the curved railing that looks like a delicate lace of small flowers.
Thank you Ryszard for joining my “Art Nouveau” contest and congratulations on your 3th place! A well composed picture that shows the Secession Building, an architectural manifesto of the Secession, located in Vienna, Austria. Its importance is such as to have been depicted in the 50 cent euro coin of the Austrian Republic. In this detail, we can see the contrast between the geometric design of the white walls and the golden floral-inspired decorative motifs. The eye is attracted by the perforated spherical dome, composed of thousands of golden leaves: it looks like a filigree jewel or a chocolate wrapped in shiny gold paper. :-)
Thank you Dragana for joining my “Art Nouveau” contest and congratulations on your 9th place! The Majolikahaus, designed by Otto Wagner, shows some of the most classic details of the Art Nouveau style, here in Vienna called Secession style. We can admire this façade with precise repetition of windows, softened by small ceramic tiles, also known as majolica, with floral shapes and colors from nature, like reds and greens.
Thank you Manfred for joining my “Art Nouveau” contest and congratulations on your 7th place! A very precise composition in which the wooden frame enhances these glasses with fine engraved decorations in stylized floral forms, harmonious leaves or feathers, creating curves and circles. A splendid example of Vienna Secession.
Thank you Vladimir for joining my “Art Nouveau” contest and congratulations on your second place! The ceiling of the Casa Batlló, Barcelona, where the architect Antoni Gaudì has expressed his poetics, has become an abstract swirl, a symbol of Modernismo, the name of Art Nouveau in Spain. I love the textures and warm and cold tones, the dynamic effect, like a fabric that is wrapping around the lamp.
Thank you Gwyneth for joining my “Art Nouveau” contest and congratulations on your 10th place! A simple and well done image that emphasizes the elegance of this bracelet. In this small object we can find the Art Nouveau characteristics, as the subtle curved lines and the pattern of the dragonfly, borrowed from Japanese art, that was popular in Europe at the time.
Thank you Flavius for joining my “Art Nouveau” contest and congratulations on your 5th place! The bright blue of the facade of Moskovits Palace in Oradea, Romania, does not go unnoticed. In this well composed detail, the rounded corner of the building shows a balcony closed by a railing in wrought iron that looks like a floral embroidery. The white decorations display a woman's head framed by two trees that are meeting in a blaze of leaves that seem drawn one by one. A beautiful example of the Secession style.

Thank you for joining my “Art Nouveau” contest and congratulations on your 8th place! A well spotted picture showing a part of a building with the decorative Art Nouveau features, the inspiration from nature. The upper loggia is decorated with green trees full of leaves that intertwine in asymmetrical drawing. Other decorations are located in the rest of the façade, but what strikes me is the pattern of the gate, with supple curves and spirals.
