Ball Sports

This is why we love sport. It's unpredictable. It's warm, it's funny. This wonderful composition with very few elements in it is a remarkable photograph. The simplicity is what really makes it special. The elevated camera angle, The quality of light. The majestic way the goat is standing looking out of the frame, The puddle just in front with the reflection, the goal where the animal is standing between taking guard and then the ball in the bottom corner. This photograph puts a smile on my face and I wonder how did thet get rid of it. I can see this picture in magazines. Superb.

The use of a great technique has elevated this photograph to a very high level. The photographer has already placed themselves in the perfect position to make a great angle and the use of black and white means we focus on the intensity of the scene and action rather than potentially getting diverted by the colors of the clothes. The two men jumping for the ball really do stand out but it's the others around them that make this such a great composition. This is a real action picture in the true sense and it gives us an idea about the speed of the game and the intensity and passion that sport is about. Fantastic capture.

Age is no barrier to being able to be physical when we get older and this image shows that perfectly. This is a superb study in sports. Stunning light on the two main areas. The person with ball in hand and the basket he is aiming at. The darkened browns in the background work so well against the wonderful pose of the man caught in action. The elevated camera angle means we get to see this study in great detail. This is a wonderful composed photograph that is one of the finest I've seen in a long time. Simply stunning.
