Captain Fawcett is looking for previously unpublished photographs of worldwide barbers and barbershops. He is seeking original work that captures these tonsorial artistes plying their trade… bizarre is good, obscure is great, to this end submissions of powerful and emotive images would be deemed simply superb!
The Captain is offering 3 splendid Prize Packages, which include Leather & Tweed Wash Bags, Razors, Shaving Brushes, Shaving Bowls (with Shaving Soap), Alum Bars and T-Shirts. Moreover, the Top 10 entries will be included, with credits, in a publication entitled 'The Quintessential Grooming Guide for the Adventurous Gentleman’.

The brief in detail
Captain Fawcett is a purveyor of Moustache Waxes, Beard Oils & Balms, Razors (both safe & otherwise), Shaving Brushes, Shaving Soap and much more to delight and delicate. His range of First-Class Gentleman’s Grooming Requisites are widely acclaimed and as such are to be found in the World’s very best Barber Shops.
The Captain has most recently been asked to author a book entitled 'The Quintessential Grooming Guide for the Adventurous Gentleman’ and to this end he is looking for previously unpublished photographs of Worldwide Back Street Barbers along with the Barber Shops they work in. The Captain is seeking original work that captures these tonsorial artistes plying their trade… bizarre is good, obscure is great, to this end submissions of powerful and emotive images would be deemed simply superb.
Prize details
The Captain would like to offer the following prize packages:
- 1st Prize: Leather Wash Bag, Razor, Shaving Brush, Shaving Bowl (with Shaving Soap), and an Alum Bar
- 2nd Prize: Tweed Wash Bag, Razor, Shaving Brush, Shaving Bowl (with Shaving Soap), and an Alum Bar
- 3rd Prize: Tweed Wash Bag & ‘Keeping A Stiff Upper Lip, Regardless’ T-Shirt
All of the above can be shipped worldwide; therefore entries are welcomed from all corners of the Globe.

How it works
Every photo submitted will be available for the crowd to rate once the submissions period has ended. You can see all the images uploaded to a contest, but will need to rate them to see how they’re ranked once the rating period begins.
Some contests on Photocrowd also have a judge. After the submission period closes the judge chooses their favourite images and writes some image reviews. The crowd and judge results will be announced on the same day.
