Congratulations on 2nd place. This is a superb image! Your timing to achieve this shot is impeccable. I love the mood of your photo. One of the most iconic landmarks in beautiful Paris is in darkness but has light beginning to surround it. The powerful rays of the sun are in stark contrast to the blackness of the tower and yet, with the kaleidoscope of colours beginning to brighten the sky, a pinch of blue is in the centre of your frame. Spectacular photo that I kept returning to look at, time and time again. Thank you for sharing this beautiful photo with us.
Congratulations on 6th place! This is a beautiful photo. I love that you presented it in black and white as I would say the mood of the photo would be completely different in colour. You captured the depth of field well and my eye is drawn down along the line of lamps to the building at the end. I also like how the lamp on the other street, although rightly not in focus, is perfectly positioned between two of the main lamps in the foreground. It's a beautiful photo. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Congratulations on 7th place! Awhhhhhhh......beautiful Paris captured in one photo! You have captured the colours at the perfect time of day and the sky colours are magnificent. I love how it isn't just one colour, but many blending into one stunning sky. The sky colours have framed the city lights to give us an image of a city you would want to visit having seen this photo. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Congratulations on 8th place! I love this image! It is such a fun photo that is instantly recognisable as the Pompidou Centre but I LOVE the colours in your photo. The iconic “Metro” sign makes this photo undeniably Parisian, just with more pizazz than usual! Your photo makes me smile every time I look at it and I have looked at it often. Thank you for sharing your beautiful creation with us.
Congratulations on 3rd place! This is a very striking photo which I loved the first time I saw it and loved it more each time I looked at it. Every time I look at it, I see something different. The various hues of blue throughout the photo links the whole image together, from the blue sky to the blue metro, from the blue bus to the blue shopfronts, from the blue jacket belonging to one of the visitors to the blue screens on all the phones and finally from the blue on the roof of the building behind Opera to the blue on the French flag. This is a stunning photo. Congratulations and very well done.
Congratulations on 5th place! I love the contrast of many colours in this beautiful photo. The sky is changing and rain and storm are probably on their way. Even the sky has given the usually sparkling Sacre Coeur a duller than usual hue. Contrast that darkening with the depth of green from the trees in full bloom, they warm the tones of your image. Pickled along the foreground are a cacophony of bright colours. All the colours are beautiful and you have created a very moody image. Thank you for sharing your image with us.
Congratulations on 9th place! That sky.....it really is the hero of your image. I love the hues of blue, the various shapes of clouds and yet the bits of black among the blues and whites which really bring out the blackness in the towers. Notre Dame is quite a magnificent building in its own right, but your creation with the sky to almost completely frame the chapel, has really highlighted the magnificence of Notre Dame. A truly beautiful image. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Congratulations on 1st place! This is a superb image! You said you were looking for something a little different for a structure that has been photographed a million times and I believe you have achieved your goal. I love the black and white with the completely black background and yet the lights are sparkling to make it an eye catching image that brightens up my screen. A truly beautiful capture. Thank you for sharing your photo with us.
Congratulations on 10th place! Well, isn't this a perfect shot of a beautiful city?! I love how you have captured the long exposure on the two streets running parallel to the Champs Elysées as well. The lights are fantastically shot, all red and all white with the traffic lights to add a little break in colour. It almost seems the lights from the cars run straight to the sky. When I zoom in, I can see people and other details too. This photo makes me smile. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photo with us.
Congratulations on 4th place! I love this photo! The long colonnade with the light perfectly forming beautifully identical shapes for as far as the eye can see. I love the mood your image captures, within the corridor that is completely empty, except with one dash of colour from the gent approaching from the far end. Beautifully captured. Beautifully created atmosphere. Thank you for sharing your photo with us.
