Here I would like to see your interpretation and creative use of black and white, although slight touches of other colours may also be used if they compliment the image. The subject matter is your own choice.
Firstly, thank you for entering my challenge. The play on shadows and light is further enhanced by the usage of black and white in this image. The circle of light around the man and his shadow is extremely well composed effectively draws one into the image than would have otherwise been the case. This is further enhanced by the smaller circle of light on the left hand side of the staircase. Overall a well composed image in black and white. Congrats and well done!

Firstly, thanks for entering my challenge. The impact of this portrait is not only emphasized by the black and white but also by the expression upon the man's face. The look of despair, worry or concern is clearly indicated by the frown and clenching fist just below the cheek- the hand does not tend to distract from the face but instead adds to the overall appeal of the portrait. Congrats and well done!
Firstly, thank you for entering my challenge. The expressive look upon the man's face tends to draw on into the image. The viewer tends to wonder what the gentleman is pondering upon while he smokes his pipe. The glancing of his eyes into the distance proves to us that he is truly deep in thought. This works extremely well in the choice of black and white over colour. Congrats and well done!

Firstly, thank you for entering my challenge. The choice of black and white with a slight vignette tends to work well and accentuates the subject at hand and that which he is up to.The closed eyes of the gentleman proves the concentration he is giving upon making sure his pipe is well lit - this seems to be the central point of interest in the image. Congrats and well done!
