I liked the treatment of this image and in monochrome it really did give the old time effect which complimented the between war aircraft. The amount of detail that you captured in terms of the bracing wires, rib and doped fabric textures gave the image a pleasing result well done

The use of a portrait format adds emphasis to the vertical formation and the stacking of the aircraft. It’s a shame that the sky wasn’t helpful to you as a few clouds would have added a little extra contrast to the Sky well done

A very imaginative image showing the view from the aircraft, and using a fish eye lens. The way the upper wing matches the horizon is a good point, and the lighting is excellent, I am also pleaseD you enjoyed the trip and your stomach behaved 😀

This image made me check if it was a painting or the cover from an old “Biggles” book, it took my breath away where you have captured the spirit of the WW1 dogfight. The images and post processing are spot on and you are to be congratulated.

I like the change of image to portrait rather than landscape as it adds emphasis to the climbing of the aircraft, the shutter speed is slightly too fast as there is only minimal blurring of the propeller but the handling of the tonal range is good with great contrast between wings and sky

In this contest I would like to see you photos of biplanes or triplanes flying in the air. A biplane is defined as an aircraft with two fixed wings that are stacked vertically and a triplane has three wings. Your pictures can be colour or perhaps more sympathetic to the age of the aircraft.

The aircraft flying into the sunset is very emotive as people believe that the age of the biplane is at the end. The sunset compliments the aircraft and is very effective, I would have considered a slight crop as the ground is a bit dominant but doesn’t add to the picture
