I'm not normally a lover of black and white shots, probably because i'm not that good at them but I love this image. Exposure is spot on and its sharp throughout. Positioning of the tree within the frame is great as is the horizon and the lead in lines created by the rocks in the water.

Top shot and one that makes me want to head off to the valleys and take in the Welsh scenery.

Great shot. I've always been a fan of longer exposures being used on water shots to gain that sense of movement.

Shutter speed has been used to great affect on this image, too fast a shutter speed and the motion would be lost, too long an exposure and the water goes milky and misty and the motion is lessened, but in the right range like this shot, it really gives the viewer that sense of the movement in the water rushing around, over and into the rocks.

Compositionally, the image is strong with lead ins through the movement lines in the water flow and the cliff on the left. If I were my image, I might consider cropping in slightly to lose a small amount of the right hand side/top of the image. There is nothing too important in that area and it could allow the main rock to move from the just off centre position to a position on the thirds - but thats just a suggestion - it may or may not improve the image.

Exposure wise the image is good with detail in the shadows and no large areas of blown out white. The noise levels are good with very little noise in the shadows. Obviously, the choice of a lower ISO value has helped here. Focus is where it needs to be with the right areas in focus.

All in all, a great dramatic image that really caught my eye.

Well done.

Great shot and was in my top 30 before I had to reduce it down to 10.

What I really liked about this image was the colours and the sense of movement.

Shot presumably either at sunrise or sunset to get the yellow and gold colours to contrast with the greens and blues in the image makes the image stand out.

The slower shutter speed allowing the movement of the wave to really show through with the white tops of the waves flowing over the stiller water.

Focus wise, nothing is pin sharp, but with the slower shutter speed and the entire image moving, how could it be. Exposure is good, with detail in the shadows and no large areas of blowout.

Compositionally, the diagonal framing of the wave really works, with the white blue diagonally splitting the image in half flanked by 2 triangles of yellow and gold.

Lovely image.

Lakes, Seas, Oceans, Tarns, Puddles, etc. The list is endless. As long as there is a body of water in it, it's allowed. What I am always interested in is a well composed shot. Maybe look for sunset reflections in a lake or the sheer power of waves crashing against the rocks or long exposure of a waterfall or even go for some water drop photography. I look forward to seeing your images.

I'm not generally a fan of 'upside down' shots as most are poorly done. This is an exception that really stood out and was an easy choice for a commendation.

Compositionally, the framing of the reflection is bold with the woman dead centre. because of the angle of the shot, it took a few moments to work out that this wasn't a normal image with some newfangled filter added but a reflection, which added to the image.

Technically, its well exposed with no obvious burn out and there is minimal noise in the shadows. Difficult to tell on sharpness and focus as the majority of the image is a distorted reflection!

Nice image and a welcome change to see a well thought to , well executed upside down shot.

Certainly worthy of commendation, Well done.
