Great contest!

Slightly unusual image, which for that reason made the top 10. I liked the circle of red, with the red lines almost looking almost like the petals of a flower. Well done by something slightly unusual. Keep taking the photographs.

I really liked this image with the people in the foreground, framed by the trees. The fire truck adds interest. The fact that some of the fireworks are cut off at the edge doesn't seem to matter in this image as the centre of the burst is in just the right place. Well done, the organisers of the display might like this for next year's publicity.

Excellent view of the London New Year fireworks. Just the right exposure with the clock face clearly saying the time. The tree also adds to the image, which takes me back to the time I attended this event. A slightly different viewpoint makes a change from the London Eye.

I really liked this image, especially the colours. The horizon was straight and the colours of the fireworks worked well. However, some of the important fireworks were cut off. The one on the right hand side didn't matter all that much, but on the left and the top left important large fireworks were cut off - next time perhaps try a wider angle.

The reflections and the castle made this a top 10 image. Exposure of the fireworks is excellent with the dark sky behind and Cardiff Castle floodlit in red to the left. The reflections in the still water really make this image. Perhaps the smoke on the left could have been slightly toned down, but it is really an excellent image.

This is an amazing photograph. It has everything I would look for in a firework photograph. The Singapore Flyer and the Marina Bay add to the image, as do the amazing reflections and colours. Exposure also spot on. This really is a worthy winner - Congratulations.

It's that time of year, so get snapping at the forthcoming firework displays. Photographs of aerial displays are fine, but also telephoto images, zooming in on part of a display or why not try wide angle to include some of the foreground. Have a look at some of the images on Photocrowd - there are some excellent firework shots to give you inspiration. Including people in the image is fine so long as there are some fireworks also in the image.

This had the potential to be a great photograph with the bridge and wheel, but unfortunately over exposure on the fireworks especially the centre of the bursts and the display on the left meant this didn't make the final selection. Keep going to the displays, trying different ISOs, apertures etc.
