Buildings with Thatched or Turfed Roofs

Congratulations for 1st place in my competition. I love how the house disappears into the landscape because of the turfed roof. The colours are wonderful and it also has some great shadows and highlights. Well done for an overall brilliant image.

Congratulations on 3rd place. The thing that is striking about this photograph is how you can see different textures. The rugged turf on the roof against the smooth building really creates a good juxtaposition. There are also some brilliant colours. Well done.

Congratulations on 2nd place in my competition. Firstly, what a brilliant find. The foxes and ducks on this house is so wonderful. You have managed to get a wonderfully shot image of it too. Firstly I love the composition, you have made it so the foxes and ducks sit directly in the middle of the frame, which is great for the eye. Also there seems to be the same amount on either edge of the image from the back of the fox and back of the duck. For an image like this, the perfect composition is super important and you got it perfect.

Congratulations for top 10. I love the beautiful, vibrant colours in this image. I also love the warm lighting and the fact that you have composed the building to the side of the frame. It works really well for the viewer. I only wish that the man weren't in the image at the side. but overall, well done.

Congratulations on top 10. There was quite a few photographs of this house, but yours was my favourite. I think the reason for this is your brilliant composition and how you have used leading lines to lead your eye to the house. Well done.
