Insects are one of the hardest things to work with. Shooting true macro of bees is even harder. So a photo that has a greater than 1:1 ratio is near impossible so this shot is impressive. its razor sharp hairs, perfect depth of field, and composition make it truly deserving of second place.

I really like this shot. I also know how hard it is to get a flying bees, especially bumble bees and solitary bees. Honey bees are pretty slow (in my opinion). To make it even better, I would get a little closer to increase the distance between the flower and the bee to add interest and a little more to the story. Good work and keep it up!
I love this shot! It looks like the bee got so camera shy it fell over backwards. I also really like the depth of field and clarity of the bees face, well done! If I had taken this shot, I would move the bee a little so that the eyes were in a third, just to make it even more interesting and appealing. Keep up the good work!

For this contest I only want photos of solitary bees and bumble bees. Please do not enter photos of any other type of bee such as honey bees. A solitary bee is a type of bee that creates nests on its own, usually they are smaller and more colourful than honey bees. Bumble bees, on the other hand, are larger, louder, and more hairy than honey bees. Make your image a unique and creative view on these bees, so get as close as you can.
