What a fabulous entry! I absolutely love the sense of scale and it is obvious how much energy he has put into his epic climb. Technically it is a very well executed study, pin sharp and with a good depth of field - I like the way we can just see where the sculpture is set. The reason I have chosen this as my overall winner is because although it doesn't have the energy of some of my other choices, the simplicity and subtle tones mean it could grace anybody's wall. I absolutely love it! Thank you.
This is perfectly suited to the category, I am looking for spontaneous fun and obvious action - this has all that in plenty. I just love the sheer joy on his face. Technically, it is very well composed with the interest well placed to the left foreground but still allowing us to see the context. A great one for the family album.
Although this is a subject that comes up often, there is simething irresistable about bubbles and the lovely spontaneous reactions they provoke in children. I like the composistion of this one with the children placed bottom left but the bubbles leading right through into the picture. Overall, a really pleasing picture. Thank you.
This is such a clever image, everything about it is well thought out and results in a really pleasing photograph. I think the editing process is particularly appropriate. The only reason it hasn't made it into my top 10 in this challenge is it lacks the sense of action that I am looking for. I'm sure it will do even better in other categories. Well done, I love it!
What a great capture. The expressions on their faces really conveys the speed and action that I am looking for. It also tells the story - future Olympians here, I think! The depth of field is important too, you have managed to keep the spectators in focus enough for us to see just how important their part in the event is.

I can't ignore this one, as although it doesn't really have the full on action that I am looking for - it is just so beautifully handled. (I would be interested to know the editing process?) My only slight criticism would be that I find the little bright green patch in the top left hand corner a bit distracting. Thank you for sharing your obvious talent with us.
Such a great moment frozen in time. I love the expression and the sense of cheekiness that you have caught so well. I would, perhaps have gone for a slightly tighter crop and removed the rather distracting, brown object on the right hand side (if you have Photoshop or Lightroom skills it would be even better without the white post too). I do hope she got her target! Thank you.

Please share your favourite photos of children being active. The children must be around the age of 12 and under. The children can be involved in any sport or activity but it must be obvious that movement is involved. I will be looking for spontaneous shots where you have just caught the moment. Entries can be in colour or black and white.
Technically, a superb photograph. The lighting, exposure and timing are faultless. I love the colours and the way you have frozen the action. It is hard to tell, but my only reservation is whether this young man fits into the 12 and under category that I am looking for in this challenge. I wish you the success you deserve in future challenges.
This entry caused me a problem - I kept returning to it as it is such a gorgeous photo that definitely deserves to be hung above the fireplace. Technically it has everything going for it, the composition, the colours, the depth of field and the child's expression have been beautifully captured. However, it just lacks the sense of action that I am looking for in this contest. I am sure it will do really well in other challenges. Congratulations.
What can I say .... such a great moment, wonderfully captured! I like the high key effect which helps to focus the attention on the two main characters. You have frozen the action perfectly but without taking away the sense of speed that the little chap has achieved. If I were to be really picky, I wonder if the whole image could be straightened a little, it may be an optical illusion because of the yellow tankers but it does give the impression that everyone is walking uphill.
