1st - well done. This image is unique out of the 371 in that it has a very strong human quality. Shooting into the sun too - very effictive at capturing smoke; the people and smoke and use of a long lens create layers across the composition. The use of B&W (post production skills here) adds a timeless quality to the image too - It felt like a modern image but from the early 20th Century! In the way that judging can be subjective this image just got my attention and when I looked at it in detail I could appreciate that it is very competent too.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 1 and 250 in this week’s <a href="https://www.photocrowd.com/photographer-community/">Leaderboard</a>.** Rapidly becoming historical artifacts, chimneys range from the purely functional to the architectural statement. Views over the rooftops aren't always the easiest to come by. When you do get that view, a telephoto lens offers the opportunity to stack chimneys at different distances together into one frame.
