This contest is for your close-up photos of wooden groynes and wooden piers. Groynes are used to prevent sand or soil erosion on beaches and in rivers, whereas piers can be used as walkways or moorings. You could try to show textures ranging from wood rot or corrosion of fixings for the wooden posts or cross bearers that age, weather and water conditions can create. Images could also show lichen or other plants and sea life that can attach themselves to the structures. Whilst metal fixings can be included please do not include any concrete, stone or metal structures. Photos can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to your entries.
