I’m very partial to a good composite and this is a fine example of that genre.
Positioning the clown behind the car adds depth to the image and the shadow beneath the car grounds it nicely and negates the dreaded “pasted on” look. The clown bodywork completes the image and has been very well executed.

You think clown, you think colour. Or at least I do which is why I’m quite surprised to find this image in my top ten.
I could wish that the background was a little bit less busy but I love the visual contradiction between the smartly dressed guy with his immaculate hair and his surprised clown face.

Please show me your best photographs of clowns. Love them, hate them or fear them (coulrophobia) there is no denying that clowns represent colourful and compelling subject matter. Other people may appear in your entries but the clown or clowns must be the main focal point of the picture. Colour and monochrome entries are both acceptable.
