Not only does this image tick all the boxes when it comes to a colour themed photo competition but it's also strikingly beautiful. The colours palette is narrow yet so rich. Blues and yellows complement each other beautifully while touches of more saturated colours offer a depth to the image and a focus point for our eyes to rest on. Blurred lady in foreground offers another level of complexity to already nicely composed image and leads our eye to the main subjects. Visual aesthetics of this image reminds me of the legendary Alex Webb's imagery.

This is THE example of how to use a negative space in an image while being spot-on on the colour theme. I love the predominantly cold colour palette, I love the slightly warmer foreground and I love the use of the two characters juxtapositioned against the vast size of the ice cave. Nicely done!

Great, moody capture. The fact that we are unable to see this person's face, only a silhouette, adds to mystery while we're left guessing their nature. The red background is alarming, so is the presence of a shovel, but on the other hand this person's posture is relaxed and welcoming. I love images that leave me wondering and this is one of those images.

Love everything about this image. Juxtaposition, the choice of colours, the intense saturation of red (which surprisingly hasn't clipped in the red channel) and of course, the red tie :-) For me, the red tie is what, uhhhmm, ties all the pieces together. The lamp is a nice touch and gives a perspective of scale. Wonderful.

This is a wonderful image. To me it's all about happiness and freedom. I can almost feel this girl's happiness running through the field of colourful paddy grain. The fact that her dress is almost the same colour as the field, paradoxically makes here even pop-out more of the image. The converging lines of grain lead our eye toward this little girl while hints of red colour area true eye catcher and a "bonus". Harsh sun light really did the trick here and made all colours really stand out.

They say less is more. This image is probably the definition of it. A few simple lines and some colours. But what an impact this image visually has! Boy oh boy! Colour palette is unbelievable and so are the fine texture details. At first glance this looks like an aerial shot but closer scrutiny reveals the complexities in the image. L O V E I T.

One of my favourite photos from the contest. The infinite "field of red" with three characters is absolutely mesmerising. As a matter of fact everything about this image captures my imagination. The use of shapes, the use of colour, the minimalism and the placement of subjects in the frame. Love it.

Wow. So much power in an image! You could probably charge your phone with the energy this image radiates :-) I love the narrow colour palette in this image, which even though it uses pretty much one single colour, has a really nice sense of depth to it and the main subject simply pops out against the background. Excellent work.

Beautiful capture of northern light made mysterious and scary by the use of the person in the frame and by composition utilising a vast negative space. I absolutely love this image. At first glance you notice the northern light and are tempted to end your journey there, but as you continue to explore the image you cannot but think about the person in that cold lonely environment and what they might be going through. Well done!

They say “if the image doesn’t work, print it big. If it still doesn’t work - make it red!” Color has the power to transform an image. A color by itself can be a subject. We want to see your best works where color is the primary subject of the photo and its main theme.
