This is right down to the point - pardon the pun. It’s as if the three individuals walking through the Toulouse airport tunnel are appropriately labelled A, B, and C. Good juxtaposed use has been made of the arrows pointing to the direction of the three people as well as the intended terminals. In the time-honoured tradition of street photography you’ve waited for the best moment to click your camera. The mono composition too is perfect with all the relevant details lined-up centrally within your straightened frame.

The black ABC letters within the severed red letter U are the smallest components in your photo but have the biggest impact. I love your cold blue architectural study with its straight and angular lines and the glimpse of a human inside the warm colours of the doorway. Despite there being so much going on in your composition you’ve managed to capture a sense of minimalism that draws the eye directly to the three consecutive letters.

Of all the Scrabble-related entries this one is the most believable despite the chances of pulling out seven consecutive letters. Placing them alphabetically in the Perspex rack makes perfect sense for this challenge. Yours is a clean, crisp still-life photo with a strong reflection against the shiny black background. Ditching the Scrabble board in favour of the game’s other components was a wise decision that has paid off for you. Now if it was my go with this letter selection - ‘wurst’ is the best I can do.

A bit of artistic licence going on here with your slight-of-hand entry. At first I thought brilliant! The Jack, King and Queen are held in the correct alphabetical order; but, hold on I said - ‘Queen’ doesn’t start with a ‘L’. Your rule-bending interpretation of Her Royal Highness demotion to a Lady for the purposes of this challenge made me laugh. Well done for temporarily fooling me with your cheeky three card trick and winning a top ten entry

Is it just me or have others never seen a padlock consisting of letters rather than numbers. What a great idea and one really suited to this competition. The jaunty angle of the brass lock hanging on the central ring is well composed and the wood grain is a good contrast against the metal. For some people it’s probably easier to remember a sequence of letters instead of numbers to unlock a padlock. I tried to guess what an obvious password might be - would it be something as simple as LOCK or, if it was mine, I swear it would be a four-letter-word.

ABC, MNO, or XYZ… In this contest I would like you to find and photograph three or more letters that follow each other in the alphabet. For example ABC, or XYZ. The letters might appear on posters, signs or anywhere else, but the letters must be consecutive alphabet letters. Alternatively you might like to assemble your own still life made up of random objects with consecutive letters. I will be looking for unique and creative entries.

There were many alphabet composites entered to this challenge but I particularly liked your architectural entry because you’ve creatively twisted and turned the photos to shape them into your preconceived A, B, C, D, E and F. A lot of creative thinking has gone into manipulating these six surreal images - or is it that you constantly walk around London with your head held at a 90 degree angle?

This smörgåsbord of wood block letters mixed from from various fonts makes a very strong impression - pun intended. I’m not a fan of selective colour compositions but in this case it was imperative to make the photo work. Without you rendering your W, X, Y and Z in colour it would have taken me ages to figure out your consecutive letters. In fact, a lot of the entries were lost on me precisely because I couldn’t find the letters I was meant to see. Thank you for distinguishing your letters in colour.
