The strong use of colour drew me to this image initially. The colours are bold and rich, but do not look over-done. The image is well composed and framed, and although we do not know the function of this establishment, we get a glimpse of the likely former grandeur of the architecture with the decorated pillar and the stonework. Plenty of interesting little details for the eye to explore and the image holds the attention for a good while, at the same time imagining the story behind the location. Congratulations on your winning image.

There are certainly no doubts as to whether this image meets the brief, as corrugated materials virtually fill the frame! A fascinating structure that looks like it could be a photographer's paradise, with so many textures and shapes to capture. I like that the frame is filled with the subject, which creates maximum impact and all focus is on this aged corrugated structure. Some great colour contrasts between the cream, green and rusty oranges. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
I love the sombre mood this image conveys. The drab grey of the buildings and the dreary wet paving contrast with the rather out-of-place bright sign advertising a Christmas grotto at the pleasure beach. Composition works well, with the eye drawn along the curve of the building to the structures beyond. A great capture of a cheerless out of season seaside setting. Well done on your top ten placing.
I love the abstract feel this image has, with the vertical and horizontal lines and the rectangular lamp appropriately composed within the frame. Well exposed, with good contrast between the dark rusty coloured downchute and the pale blues of the corrugated panels. A simple subject, but well-seen and effectively captured. Well done on your top ten placing.
I love this sort of image, giving a head-on view of the subject, filling the frame for maximum impact. Everything is well aligned, enabling the image to work as both a simple documentary shot, but also a more abstract image of shapes, lines and patterns. Being picky, I am uncertain about the inclusion of the wooden structure on the right, as it does distract a little. I may be tempted to try carefully cloning it out to see how it looks without it. Cropping it iff I don't think would work, as it would upset the overall balance of the composition and result in one of the red uprights being lost. Still a great image however, well done on your top ten placing.
This is a great example of how a shot of a subject as ordinary as a corrugated roof can be elevated by effective use of lighting. I imagine at a different time of day, this subject would be lacking much of the interest we have here. The roof looks to be illuminated by low sunlight late in the day, revealing the parallel lines of the corrugations, and also the warm glow of the light on the metal. Whilst the subject is recognisable, the image has also taken on a more abstract look. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
Whilst the colours here are maybe a little oversaturated, it somehow works well as a contrast to the heavy mist and the overall dreariness of the setting. A location that looks to be full of interesting little details to capture in the buildings, it is nice to see an overviw of the huts in their wider setting. Congratulations on your third place finish.

A fabulous image, combining an architectural shot of a snowy fire escape with a more abstract capture of colour, lines and shapes. Composition and framing is great, with all verticals and horizontals perfectly aligned, which is important with a shot such as this. A super find, with the vivid red structures being outlined by a covering of snow. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.

In this contest I would like to see your photos which show corrugated materials. Corrugated panels and surfaces are composed of materials such as metal, fibreglass and plastic, shaped into a series of parallel ridges and furrows to provide strength and is used throughout the world for construction, from modern industrial warehouses to simple rural dwellings. Your image could show close up details of corrugated materials, or a wider view of buildings and objects composed fully, or partially of corrugated materials. Please make sure the corrugated subject is an obvious feature of your image and the corrugation is clearly visible. Photos can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to seeing your entries.
