Corrugated

A simple but effective image, well seen and well captured. It is easy to walk on past scenes such as this, but carefully composed as here, the subject can make a very pleasing image. The rippled water adds more than totally calm water would have done, as it renders the lines of the corrugated metal into interesting wobbly zig-zags. Congratulations on your second place finish.

I love the gritty feel of this image. Composition is great with everything well balanced and adequate space given to the key components to prevent anything looking cropped off. A great capture of an abandoned bothy, maybe still capable of providing some shelter in an emergency. The overcast skies give a nice softness to the light, also allowing some lovely contrast between the cool greens and greys and the warmer tones of the rusting corrugated metal. A great image, perfectly conveying a feel of winter chill. I love the effect of the snow caught in the troughs of the corrugated metal, creating an effect of red and white stripes.
