Creative street photography

Street photography is all about the decisive moment, matching a subject to the right scene and/or action at just the right time. This is a perfect example of this, resulting in an image that's funny, quirky and even a little thought-provoking.

This style of street photography is now very popular on Instagram - under-exposed, and revealing only very specific detail; in this case, just a bright pink umbrella and pale handbag. Superbly done.

Creative street photography can sometimes be all about the use of colour, and that's very much the case here. The photographer hasn't merely snapped an eye-catching scene; the compositional balance is just right, with the position of the workmen around two-thirds of the way across the frame.
