Domestic Chores and Housework

Shooting into the bright low sunlight has created a dramatic and impactful shot, telling the story of the early morning chore of fetching water. Some may be critical that the sky is over-bright and the biildings over-dark, but for me that adds to the atmosphere and mood. I especially love how the sunlight has picked up the textures on the rough roadway, and the rim of golden light around the figures. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.

A creative portrayal of a humble iron that has been well photographed and edited to make a fantastic still life scene. Ths low key lighting has worked well, with limited areas of the iron highlighted to add interest and mood. The "steam" looks to have likely been added in post-processing, but has been done so with good effect, and certainly makes for a more dynamic capture. Congratulations on your third place finish.

This interesting image really caught my attention. Captured from the inside looking out, we get a more unusual perspective on the chores being carried out. I love the effect of the lighting on the scene, and the little fellow hiding from the water adds a fun element to the shot. Congratulations on your winning image.

I lovd this capture of a mundane scene played out in many kitchens on a daily basis, but that does not make it any less interesting to view. I am not sure if the capture is candid or carefully posed, but it all looks very natural. I like that we see a little of the room surrounding the dishwasher, as it adds context and interest. Great conversion to black and white too, with good tones and contrasts. Well done on your top ten placing.

I love the simplicity of this shot. Composition is great, dividing the frame into three separate little scenes within a scene, with each third containing a wealth of interesting little details and textures. Lighting is lovely, creating bright whites and bold colours, without being overdone. Some would consider this a rather mundane subject not worth a second glance, but I love it!
