Black and white is just what this photo needs. The contrast between the light and the dark bricks and the industrial setting all culminate into a fantastic photo. I find it a great take on the brief for the contest as the doorway is blocked, yet it is still clearly shown. I just can't help but like it in its creative feel.
This image encapsulates a moment in time well. One that makes you think that the photographer has a perfect sense for timing. It makes me want to be there. I love the light that was captured in particular the warmth in the cold colours. The realistic feel that not every image is able to capture, replicate or transfer is seen in this image. Additionally, the shadow is just right to entice in the viewer in to looking into the many dark areas of the photo and this highlights the depth in the image. Finally I just love the curtain and how it brings movement into the image. Movement to a static media. I just love it.
Black against white yet in colour. Looking at the photo there is so much to appreciate. The framing of the shot is well done. The contrast between the black and the white. The shadow is effective at bringing a greater difference in light level to what seems to be a very sunny day. I like the elegance in its modesty.

A wall, the ground, two lights, a door and two people are all that this photo seems to show. However it is such a captivating photo. Really enjoying the simple contrast between: the wall and floor and the difference in the textures. Furthermore I believe that the two people walking by and talking to each other add another focusing point to the photo. I really like how there is so much to enjoy in the photo and yet how minimal it is.

The composition of this photo is spot on. The yellow door and the complementary yellow meter box have been framed perfectly. I love the roughness on the wall and how this can lead the eye to other finer details in the image. The contrast in colours between the mustard yellow and the white is different enough to really be effective but not garish. I really would like to see more of this house, but that is the wonder of this photo. The photo does not reveal all and your imagination needs to fill in the rest.

This photo is captivating in its simplicity. I love the industrial and clinical feel that the photo captures. The photo makes me wonder why there are three doors so close to each other all with locks? Are they doors to something important or just to the cleaning cupboard? The exposure seems excellent as it would be difficult to capture the image well in poor lighting conditions while ensuring that the reflection from the tiles does not ruin the image.
As a big fan of Berlin and how it is a place of historic meets modern, I really enjoy this photo. Love the framing of this shot. The U-Bahn sitting where it is is nearly perfect, shame the lines don't line up perfectly. However, I really enjoy all the lines running in the same direction. The colours matching is another like for me and I feel as if the warm glow from the yellows really adds to the feeling the photo captures.

I would like to see your photos of doors. The image can include doors made of any material such as wood, metal and glass. They could be close-ups of doors or a wider view, but photos must have the door as the focus. Entries can be in black and white or colour.

How magical. A doorway through to a different room in which a service is taking place. The light was captured magnificently and the exposure within the photo seems just right. I wonder if they are just rehearsing the service or whether there are other worshipers participating inside the church. This is clearly left for the viewer to decide. Who knows? However I do know this photo looks enticing and is very well done.
I like the bravery in taking the photo from a different vantage point. The dewdrops really add another dimension to the image. They look like little frozen bolts or rivets on the door. The vantage upwards helps one to image what it is like to be a small creature or maybe a character from a Toy Story film. I like the variety this added to my competition.
