There were several images of this, or similar very dry locations. I chose this over the others as it has an interesting composition with the standing dead tree and the fallen branch or tree on the foreground, providing texture and detail. the line of dead trees in the middle and the red sand dunes in the distance all add interest. The bright blue sky with the fluffy white clouds complete a very pleasing and interesting image. A very dry and inhospitable environment.

I love the dry, brown and grey tones in this photograph. The use of a ghost town to depict the brief adds to the feeling of dryness, desolation and abandonment. The photo has been taken in the middle of the day so the harsh light adds to the feeling of hot and dry. The composition, with the buildings in the foreground and middle ground and the dry hills in the distance all make for a very pleasing image. Well done! A very effective depiction of the brief.

It doesn't get any drier than this! A heartbreaking image, all too familiar to drought stricken farmers in Australia. The photo has been taken in the harsh heat of the middle of the day which adds to the sense of hot and dry. A powerful photograph.

A different image depicting the dry brief extremely well. The cracked peeling and curling paint provide a fantastic texture which is enhanced by the black and white genre. The grain in the timber is also enhanced and accentuated by the high contrast and harsh light. Well done!
