Exteriors of Pubs

I like this image depicting the old and the new, it is a well thought out photo with the glass building next to the brick pub I even like the reflections in the glass windows, well done in getting a highly commended.

I think far to many pubs are being closed down some are the hub of the community, you say this one have plans to convert into flats, its a good documentary photo of this run down pub before they turn it into flats. I like the way you took this photo with its run down look and the stormy clouds above it it really tells a story, well done in getting 2nd.

Someone must be busy watering all these hanging baskets and pots, what a great looking pub with all the flowers and greenery.

Their was a few photos of this pub entered but this was in my opinion is the best daytime shot of it. Well done in getting a highly commended.

But i keep looking at it and thinking would it have been better if the streaks of car lights was not in it, and I think it would, because your eye gets drawn away from the pub. I don't know if it would as been possible to take the photo in-between the passing cars.

It just missed out in getting into my top ten, but well done in getting a highly commended.

Have we gone back in time? what a great photo of these soldiers outside this pub, I don't no but maybe they have walked a long way to get their so they deserve a sit down with a drink. I like the black and white conversion to make it look like it was taken during the war.

The soldier sitting on the bench to the right with his head in is hand really looks tied and looks like he deserves a rest, a well caught photo. Well done in getting a highly commended.

I said in my brief to show me the exterior of pubs maybe at night with their lights on and this one fits the brief with bells and whistles on all lit up at night. I like the star burst effect on the lights at the top of the pub and the blue lights on the face of the pub and I also like the busy scene with the bikes and people, in the busy street, well done in getting into my top ten.

What a great photo of this man riding a bike pulling his cool box behind him in front of this pub. The composition and timing is perfect were you got his head dead centre of the doorway, also the widows are centred with the table and chairs either side, the blue cool box matches the blue sign Fisherman's PUB & GRUB, the red bike matches the red on the pub. I'll say it aging the timing and composition is spot on well done in getting 3rd.
